Bobs's life revolved around his family. he would give his last penny to help out one of his own. Although his unselfish nature would chnge on saturdays. Saturdays the tv belonged to bob... and why?? because horse racing was on. he loved the race's. he followed great winners like Arkle, Bula and Dessie, unfortunatly betting on lots of losers also. Times were hard when bob was young. he would tell us stories of how he would catch rabbits and pick mushrooms to sell and make money for the cinema. His father, syd, would get ready and cycle into town with bob running behind. his dad would get in on time but bob would be sliding in after the film had already started. As a young man, bob had a wonderful singing voice and sang with the choir at Sailsbury Cathedral. In fact his carrer path may have been very different had he not missed a singing audition, because of working in his uncles shop (that came first unfortunatly). Having 10 children, 26 granchildren and 33 great granchildren, with more on the way, you would of thought that remembering names may have posed a problem for bob... But NO to make things even harder he had a nickname for each and every one of them. and he thought the world of each and every one of them aswell.
